As I mentioned in class, one of my pop culture addictions is Beyonce. I am such a super fan. She is such an inspiration because she was one of the first women that demonstrated to me that women can really do anything that they put their mind to. She owns and operates her empire and brand and makes it look so effortless.
I remember receiving the Destiny's Child Survivor album as a Christmas present when I was about eight years old and that was the beginning. I learned all the songs and the dance routines very quickly, so when Beyonce went solo, it only continued my fascination with her as an entertainer. I have bought all of her albums and films, and I have seen her videos and performances so much that I already know what dance move she is going to do.
I feel that she is one of the few entertainers in the world that is an all around performer and businesswoman. Alongside her music and films, she owns her own clothing line, and releases a very pleasing line of perfumes. She embarks on world tours, is a philanthropist, and has just become a legend ahead of her time.
So, that's just some of the reasons why I love Beyonce so much. She is a great example for women to just follow your dreams and believe in yourself. She has a great career, is a mother, and a wife, and raises the bar for what it means to be powerhouse and icon.
