First Post

The classification of "High" and "Low" culture caught me off guard I never really thought that most of the things in my daily life or things that are enjoyable would be considered low culture. The very concept that some of the most basic things we all probably do is looked on as low culture left a strong impression on me, but even knowing about the difference between high culture and low culture does not change the fact that I do what I love to do. Yes, it may be looked at as a low culture act, but that does not make it any less enjoyable. We all have things that are listed as low class, but this does not mean that we are any different then before. The understanding we have has changed, however, we still watch our favorite shows or movies. The classification of a high and low culture to me after thinking about really does not matter to me. I am who I am regardless what classifications given.

Overall I believe that taking this class will help me to better grasp what can be seen in my day to day life. Learning how to better see what is truly happening in today's society, be that a high or low culture is something I find truly interesting. The ability to differentiate culture into classification makes me wonder what else we will learn in this class. The anticipation I get from this class in wondering what we will learn next and how that will change my views makes me unable to wait and see what we will read next.
