Stephen's Addiction

Since I lightly discussed my fantasy sports addiction in class, I will focus on my other addiction in this blog entry.  This is "A Song of Ice and Fire", more commonly known as "Game of Thrones"  I literally cannot get enough of this incredibly complex and rich story.  While I absolutely love the show, my real love is the five books that have been published.  Like any true addiction, it started innocently enough.  After watching the first two seasons a few times and without any other outlet, I dove into the books.  To this point I have read all five books twice, each book being close too or over 1000 pages.  I literally fantasize every day about starting my next re-read.  As a matter of fact, writing this is giving me the itch to read a few chapters.  The depth in the story is what keeps me coming back.  You can pick up multiple clues in each chapter that you never could have caught the first or even the second time you have read it.
I am not an avid reader either.  These are the only books that I have read completely for pleasure in my entire life.  While I am not on a re-read or watching the current season of the show you can find me trolling internet forums eagerly discovering the newest fan theories.  The storytelling is so complex that there is no possible way someone of average to slightly above average intelligence(myself) can understand everything as there is an enormous amount of reading between the lines that is necessary for complete understanding.  This is what fuels my addiction.  I understand that this seems extremely strange to pretty much everyone.  Even my friends that love the show think I am quite the dork.
